The Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon is a research institution under the umbrella of Helmholtz association.
Its Institute of Coastal Systems - Analysis and Modelling conducts research from physical, ecological and socio-economic perspectives on coastal system change due to climate change and anthropogenic use, including coupled physical- chemical-biological modelling and transdisciplinary marine policy assessment.
Hereon will perform numeric ecological modelling (WP2) with ECOSMO E2E (model also used in CMEMS), provide social sciences expert input to all use case scenario analyses (WP 5) and lead the investigation on Use Case 2 in the German North Sea. Hereon leads WP3, bringing experience in managing transdisciplinary dialogues and BowTie marine policy risk assessment, and will contribute to developing the social models for all the use cases.
